We made it! Now comes the really long day, and trying to stay awake while we transitions to China time. The flight was mostly uneventful, we got in really early and have been wandering around the hotel and close by trying to pass the time. When we arrived it was raining quite a bit and luckily it stopped so we walked around the streets and look around. We were told that the next 10 days are suppost to be rainy... I hope if that's the case, we can find inside things to do. We are both excited about tomorrow and a little unnerved that we aren't nervous... I hope and pray that tomorrow won't be to hard for the little one, and that it will go smoothly.
Someone didn't quite make it...
I found this on Dan's computer, I'm missing my girls!

We made it. Not sure if I will ever get use to that flight. It ended up being two hours longer than I remember. (bit of a bummer) This trip we seem to be calmer than past trips. Not sure if we are just familiar with what is happening or if it is everyone's prayers are working. (probably the latter)
The Hotel is a Marriott property so it is geared to the business travelers. They fixed us up with a room that was a little bit cozy. When we thought of living there for 12 days, we decided to get a little more room. That choice seems to take the edge off and we have settled in and we are quite comfortable.
Despite our extensive preparations we discovered that some things have been overlooked so mom has started a shopping list. She's already found some cute ideas. The locals jumped on the opportunity and seemed disappointed when we told them we would wait a day. So top priority tomorrow is a toy for Mei mei! I must admit that I admire the love, thoughtfulness and generosity that mothers have for her daughters. Sometimes we men get so busy that we overlook the affections we have for family. It's a good thing that God made women different.
The flood of sensations in China seem more familiar now. The smells, the noise and mass of people have stirred fond feelings. I find that we've become quite sentimantal about the beautiful people that live here. Most have a hard lives, but they strive to make things beautiful in their work and they try to look their best. We've missed the kindness and service that seems so natural to them.
Tomorrow is gottcha day! We'll deliver our service project and meet the newest member of our family. We better get some rest.
