My Mother on Mothers Day

Oh how I love this Lady! There are few people in my life that have affected me like my Mom. All my life I have wanted to be like her. Its not just by chance that we call her Angel Grandma, she is that and more. I remember when I was young and they would talk about the second coming of the Savior and how the righteous would be caught up to meet him, in my little girl mind I thought to myself, I'll just stick close to my Mom and when she floats up to meet Jesus I'll just grab on to her ankles. 

My feelings haven't changed much in that aspect, she truly is an angel to me. There have been nights that I have been in pain and I being an adult called out for her, days that don't quite begin right without talking to her. I remember the day we got our first daughter from China standing in the airport waiting to depart and asking if I could call her, I just needed to hear her voice and her encouraging words before I became a mother.

For such a long time she would come down and clean my house when I couldn't, plant my flowers when I didn't have the strength too. When I started feeling better I couldn't bring myself to tell her that I was ok now because I enjoyed her coming down so we could spend sometime together. She is so good to me and in fact I am her favorite child, I can say that because none of my 10 (yes that says ten) other siblings read my blog, but my Mom does so putting teasing aside, we all feel like her favorites, that's a sign that she is a wonderful Mom. Although she still makes me a birthday cake... ;)

Mothers Day wouldn't be complete without a few words for my wonderful Mother-in-Law. I have watched some of my sisters deal with there Mother-in-laws and I feel so grateful that I love my Mother-in-law. She too is such an great example to me, I'm so grateful for her love and support and especially for raising such a wonderful son who treats me so well. I hope that someday I can be as wonderful as these ladies, I have my work cut out for me.
